I always have several canvases in progress at any one time - currently I have 10 on the go - and sometimes they take a while but this one came together fairly quickly. This is the third painting I've done of Danebridge. This one is different because the trees are mostly without their leaves, so the sinuous patterns created by the bare branches create complex webs in the sky; while instinctively I tend towards simplifying, this time I embraced the detail and this is feeding into two other paintings that I hope will be finished soon.
